General

LINT appreciates LEWIS BAUER for offering his shop for the meeting.

The list of new guests and members includes: Jim Godfrey, Gregg Thomas, Howard Lee Harkness, Mike McMillan, Shane Elliott and Robert Kramer. LINT welcomes you all.

The new scribe and photographer for future meetings will be ANDY AVERA and GARY GRAVES will be the new treasurer. These two deserve a new car for volunteering, but instead we'll just say THANK YOU!.........So from now on, tell ANDY when you want a meeting photo for the site, and give your dues to Gary.

There will be a NEW & IMPROVED Router article on the site by Big Bob Harris. He has once again shown everyone up by improving his earlier model. Be sure to read it.

Show & Tell

DAN FOBERT demonstrated his simple binding router arm made from hardwood and locally available hardware. His design features an innovation we all appreciated. His mounts in a drill press and is not only compact and stable but very smooth and accurate. He will be hosting a clinic to show how to make and use this device in September. Check the home page for details.
Dan also has made some wonderful maple clamps (plans soon to be on the site for members). Once again Dan's advanced mechanical skill is evident in his work. Dan's Clamp
JOHN TIMBLIN brought his DART guitars and updated his progress on the entire project. They are coming out quite nicely....we also found out that John will soon leave our neck of the woods to move to Arkansas. Keep in touch John, Good Luck on the new adventure to you and Melinda.
Bob Harris' Guitar BOB HARRIS showed off his new classical guitar Ala Romanillos. The rosewood and European spruce guitar is a very solid design. It was made with the Spanish "V" joint peg head which is a work of art when properly executed. Bob went to Spain and wrote article about the entire program, check it out on the LINT site.
CHRIS JENKINS brought a finished flamed maple banjo. Everyone was knocked out by the finish and sound. Check out the details in the photo. See Moses happily play the Jenkins banjo. Chris Jenkins' Banjo
STEVE HOLSTEIN got to show off his new cocobolo steel string guitar he is now finishing. The wood under finish is remarkable as it favors Brazilian rosewood. He also gave a new source for electric heating blankets available from OMEGA.

He uses a light dimmer control rated at 300 watts to regulate the temperature and these blankets are made to custom sizes. THEY ARE ABOUT 1/2 THE PRICE OF OTHER SUPPIERS. As Steve has demonstrated in the past, sometimes cheaper is better (or at least as good). See www.omega.com for ordering info.

CHUCK LEE brought a new banjo with amazing inlay. His detail is so cool! He also gave us a new source and samples for a new CA glue supplier. He brought data sheets with product and pricing info. STARBOND is obtained from:

ROBERT QUISENBERRY brought a rosewood kit dreadnaught that he is in the process of finishing. He has done a great job on assembly and is excited about the building next one already.

MIKE ROACH is making significant progress on his rosewood 12 string. He brought the body in the mold and is working out a few kinks. Mike's work keeps him very busy but he has finally gotten some time to do some serious wood work. Go Mike, Go.....
Bo Walker's Guitar BO WALKER brought the second Indian rosewood /cedar classical guitar made in a series for Denton, Texas guitar duo KEVIN JOHNSON and BEN SHEPPARD.
A beautiful performance of Bach was played on the Walker guitar by member KEN SRIBNICK. He is a former classical musician and Renaissance man. Ken Sribnick
