| Bob
and Winnie live in a beautifully restored home in near downtown
Dallas. Bobs' shop and Winnies' art studio are housed in a back
yard structure that they built for the purpose. We had about twenty
members and guests and had two new members join
us.
Wives Crystal, Billie & Mellinda
assisted Winnie in "prettying up the shop". In the future we hope
that mates will always feel free to participate in our meetings. |

An
impromptu jam took place in back yard as several new instruments
were played. Bobby Chitwood a former member of the
Bugs Henderson group
gave Lewis Bauers' 3/4 bass a workout.

There
were several works in progress and new instruments. On

brought a mandolin and a steel six string.
Lewis
Bauer shows off his 3/4 scales double bass. It has spruce
top and maple back sides and neck. Lewis will be hosting

Moses Mc Knight and his wife Crystal show off his amazing
pearl inlay work. You would swear that it is laser cut but
it is all done by hand. Moses will be demonstrating his techniques
at our meeting in December. This will be a "not
to miss"
presentation. |

| John
Timblin shown here with his wife Mellinda gave a brief report on
the show that they recently participated in at the Sheldon Concert
Hall in St. Louis. They reported that despite no sales, that it
was a very positive experience which they would support in the
future.
They also planted the seeds for LINT to promote a similar
event in the south and southwest targeted for 2004. Check our site soon for
more
on
this. |

Steve
Kinnaird showed us his interpretation of the parallelogram
binding ledge cutter. In this variation he has
articulated the central pivot. Note the pivot on the upper
connection of the arms. This allows for a greater range of
movement of the cutter head. Follow this link to see how
our members have refined Harry
Fleishmans' original design. |

At
the end of the day and after a fine buffet lunch, Chris Barker
showed an elegant wall mounted guitar hanger. He intends
to make a bunch of these and we hope to see them at one of
our
swap sessions sometime soon.
And last,
but certainly not least, Bob Harris presented a slides of the
class he attended in Spain led by legendary guitar maker
Jose Romanillos. Pictured below Jose inlaying a rosette and
Bob sweating it out at his bench. |
